Family Business: Harry Rosenfeld founded the shop, and his sons, Aaron Ross and Norman Rosenfeld, later took over management and ownership following Harry\'s death in 1973. Peak and Closure At its height, Sibley’s grew into a major regional chain with more than 38 stores across Michigan and Ohio, including a specialized women\'s line called \"Ms. Sibley\'s\". However, the company struggled with declining mall traffic and a sluggish economy in the early 2000s At its peak in the 1990s, Sibley’s Shoes reached its highest level of popularity as a major regional powerhouse, generating approximately $38 million in annual sales. Diverse Appeal: The brand maintained its popularity by catering to different demographics through its standard Sibley’s stores and Ms. Sibley’s, a specialty line dedicated to women\'s footwear. Design Evolution: The brogue roots at Sibley\'s focused on the \"gentleman\" image, shifting from functional outdoor gear to the refined dress shoes that defined the Detroit business pro.
